Top seed Rafael Nadal is through to the US Open quarter-finals for the first time in four years after beating Ukraine’s Alexandr Dolgopolov.

The Spaniard, 31, won 6-2 6-4 6-1 in just one hour and 41 minutes at Flushing Meadows.

He goes on to face 19-year-old Russian Andrey Rublev or Belgian eighth seed David Goffin.
