Jackie Bradley Jr. makes ridiculous catch to rob Aaron Judge of home run

The quirks of Fenway plus the defensive excellence of Bradley equals no homer for Judge. Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees won Game 1 of their doubleheader with the Red Sox on Sunday, but things didn’t go as well for New York in the nightcap.

Trailing 3-0 (the same score they won by in Game 1) in the top of the eighth, it appeared that Aaron Judge had added to his MLB-leading home run total when he hit a ball 411 feet to center field. Unfortunately, Fenway Park’s wacky dimensions and Jackie Bradley Jr. teamed up to rob Judge.

Watch Bradley Jr. make a fantastic catch — with a perfectly timed jump — to take away a homer from Judge:

411 feet and nothing to show for it, after Judge’s teammate Didi Gregorius hit a 295-foot homer in Game 1.

The Red Sox came away with a 3-0 victory in Game 2, and now have a 3.5-game lead over the Yankees  in the AL East.
